GBB Fan of the Year
The Greenville Browns Backer Fan of the Year (GBB FoY) was first started in the 2024 Season. This is for someone who has been identified as a true die-hard Browns Fan. Someone who, week after week will root on the Browns no matter what.
"Change for Change" Program: Every time that the Browns score, we take the change that's in our pockets or left over from our drinks and drop it in a bucket. This money is then donated at the end of the year to the non-profit of the GBB FoY's choice.
The GBB FoY also gets their name engraved on a nameplate and put onto a stadium seat from the old Municipal Stadium. This seat was donated by David Doubek. It is in memory of his late son David, who was a die-hard Browns fan and had purchased seat when they tore Muni Stadium down.
2024 GBB FoY
Joanie Ripley was a life long Browns fan and a member of the Greenville Browns Backers for several years. She was one of the first to show up to a viewing party and typically sat in the same seat every week. Unfortunately we lost Joanie just a few months before the season started in 2024. Although Joanie was not with us to pick the "change for change" charity, we knew of her love for the Greenville Humane Society and were able to donate $85 to them in her name.
2025 GBB FoY
Drew Palmer is been a die hard Browns fan who is at every watch party he can be at. He is always decked out in Cleveland Browns gear and ready for a Cleveland Browns win. Drew keeps the official Greenville Browns Backers scorebook (color coded for the teams we are playing). He always has a sharp positive attitude for our Cleveland Browns. He embodies what a true Cleveland Browns fan is. Drew has chosen the Shriners Hospital of Greenville as his charity of the year. Shriners played a huge role in Drew's life, helping him to walk and not be bound to a wheel chair. So every score that the Browns have this year drop a few bits of change in the bucket and let's give the Shriners a nice healthy check.

Lowell Caylor
Lowell Caylor #22 - A former Cleveland Browns Player from the 1964 World Championship Browns. He has been a long time member Greenville Browns Backers and a long time fan of the Cleveland Browns.

Jim "Dawg Vader" Shaffer one of our board members is another fan favorite when coming to one of the Greenville Browns Backers meet-ups. He is always happy to put on the mask and take a picture for visitors. You may have seen him in the stands a time or two.
